Julie at Creative Genius's handmade inspiration

5 years ago I opened a gallery that

exclusively sells handmade items. I think as Americans we do not always support our own culture and I think

handmade items are a big part of what makes up a culture. One thing I admire about Europe is the focus that is

placed on the arts and here in the United States, people have this Walmart mentality. Instead of focusing on the

quality of handmade items, people go cheap. It was refreshing to come across this site...hope it inspires a ton of

people to appreciate the little bit of personal energy that goes into every handmade creation and that gets

transfered from creator to buyer.

Angie's handmade inspiration

I love buying handmade! I'd much rather support a regular person

just trying to make a living, than a big corporation. Handmade is so much better too. The sellers are usually

willing to customize things for you and they put a lot more love into what they're making. And it definitely

shows through:)

Holly's Designs's handmade inspiration

I really like to buy handmade because it

helps out local communities. I get tired of seeing everything coming from overseas. By supporting overseas

products we indirectly support inhumane working conditions.

My Inspiration

I was one of those kids that collected rocks from the driveway - just because they were pretty and I wanted them.

Now that I'm designing jewelry I get to have all that I want - in all the pretty colors I can find. And I get to

share that joy with others.

pink is there really any other colour

I love handmade, both buying and creating.

Handmade make such personal gifts and are usually one off items. I have purchased lots of handmade gifts over the

years as there are lots of very talented people out there and I would rather buy something that has been made with

love and care
My biggest purchase was Nappies for my daughters excellent and recommended, I even passed them

onto the next baby in the family as they were so well made.
