Tania's handmade inspiration

I love handmade, it is different from what you buy at any store. I have a

fascination for dining tables well prepared and a big fan of table linens. I started my homemade table linens

business when looking for table linens for myself that were different and affordable and did not find anything out

of the ordinary, that is when I decided to start looking for fabrics and making my own. Please look at my blog and also at my Etsy shop at and take a look at what I make.

Handmade Makes Economic Sense

I have been a big fan of handmade way before it

was trendy. I love the knowledge that I can own a unique piece made by a real person! This inspired me to open my

store last year. Hollyhocks,LLC provides retail space to local handmade artists to sell their items. I love being

able to tell people who made the item they are looking at and where they are from. They in turn like having a

little history to go along with the purchase. Handmade and buying local supports real people in our community and

reduces our carbon footprint too. It's good for everyone!!

Rew Elliott's handmade inspiration

Choosing to buy handmade it a bit like choosing to buy local

produce. Firstly, you cannot compare a mass produced item in terms of inspiration, quality, and attention to

There is also an element of the designer/producer in every item, a spirit and soul that mainstream

production cannot replicate.

Finally, buying handmade is a tremendous boost to small business and to the

economy. It's small business that is the backbone of our economy and unless they are thriving, the country will

not prosper.
