Buying and Sewing Handmade

As a child, my mother sewed the majority of our

clothes out of financial necessity. They were always beautiful and truly better made than store-bought clothing.

As an adult, I sew because I truly love to sew. I pride myself in crafting something truly unique.

this reason, I prefer to buy handmade if possible. I know that each crafter works very hard to produce a quality

item and that each product is made with love and care, much more so than something made in China or India.

Furthermore, I know that my money might be supporting a family who truly needs the money to survive. Many handmade

products come from work-at-home moms who are trying to help support their family, as I am with The Craft Cobbler.

It pleases me greatly that the money I do have to spend on such purchases goes to help another American family.

Made in China doesn't even compare

I am a wahm. I understand the great gift it

is to do what I love and still be able to stay home with my children. I love to purchase from wahms! You know

the item will be unique, made with love and of quality materials.

31Summers... Fabric, Wire and Beads OH MY!!!

I have alway been a creative soul

thanks to my Granny, Shelby Jean Bumgarner. I will forever create and buy handmade creations in her memory.

Everytime you buy handmade I feel like you are a getting a glimpse into another person's heart.

Why I buy handmade

I look for handmade items when

I need the "perfect" gift for someone special. I feel that I can find something unique that will match their

personality much better if I find a one-of-a-kind item instead of something mass produced in stores.

jacquelinejewelry's handmade inspiration

Handmade items have a soul and enrich my life in a way

that mass-produced items simply can't. My most recent purchase was a handmade wood bookmark to use as a gift to a

dear cousin in law school. It was upcycled with an old metal key embedded in it that coincidently was a Yale key

and my cousin is in Yale Law school!
